Today, the Tonto Basin Fire District (TBFD), Tri-City Fire District (TCFD), and Globe Fire Department (GFD) received final approval for their Incident Command Grant from the state of Arizona. This grant amounts to $750,000 and will be used to enhance their field incident accountability system and improve emergency response.
The key enhancements include:
- Dispatch Improvements: Provided by 3AM, these upgrades will streamline communication between dispatch centers and field units.
- IT Equipment: Mobile Data Terminals (MDT) from Getac will be deployed in field units.
- Internet Modems and Vehicle Location: FirstNet will supply modems for internet connectivity and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology.
- Cell Phone Communication: FirstNet enables cell phones to function like emergency radios.
These enhancements will significantly improve dispatch efficiency, allowing crews to respond swiftly to emergencies and collaborate effectively with partners such as TCFD and GFD. To view the award letter, click HERE.
